Tutorila did not seem to include any info about setting the number of rings before the ‘Call Minder’ facility’ clicks in.
This is important to know so that my fax facility can be set up properly.Would appreciate feedback on this point.Thank you.

How many rings does the phone do before it switches into call minder?
I am assuming call minder acts as an answer phone.

After listening to messages in the ‘Old Messages’ folder, is it a case of pressing ‘1’ again to go back to your standadr voicemail box?

I am trying to set up the free optional extras like voicemail and call waiting and free line insurance and Caller ID… as shown on http://www.orcon.net.nz/home/page/orconplus_home_phoneline_pricing_and_features  This page has no links… this page tells me how to set up voice mail but says I need a pin number where do I find that?

Voicemail PIN - you will have set this up when you signed up. If you haven’t our support team will be happy to reset it for you once they have verified your identity.

Number of rings before voicemail - currently the phone will ring for 24 seconds before voicemail kicks in. We are able to change this for you if necessary, please send us an email or give us a call and we will be happy to sort that out for you.

Hi , I was told that you didnt have to dial zero to call orcon from another line but this is not true by the looks of things.  Impossible for me to check my messages from toll bared phone?! the access i have when away from home.  Also if I check messages from a friends charge are they charged a toll from telecom?

Hi Orcon, how can i activate my voicemail? Voicemail does not kick in after 24 seconds. The phone rings continuously without going to the voicemail message.

I would often like to skip the reading of the caller ID to speed up listening to the messages - is this possible?
Thanks.

@ Steve Smith

If you wish to turn off voicemail, simply call our Contact Centre on 0800 131415, and they will be able to take care of that for you.

@ Frances

Your friend will be charged for a toll call by whomever their provider is if they reside outside of Auckland or Wellington and are calling outside the local calling zone. So basically calling either 09 or 04 550 0789 respectively (or 0064 9 550 0789 if overseas), and not being in teh local zone will result in a toll call.

@ Patrick Wilson

To turn on voicemail, give our Contact Centre a call and they will be able to sort that out for you.

@ Martyn Barry

Sorry, no, you cannot skip the reading of the caller ID
