FAQ: What does standby mean?

Depending on your use for a Cloud computer, you might find that you don't actually need to have it running at all times. That’s the major benefit of Orcon’s Cloud computing - you don't pay for a server 24/7 if you’re not using it!
When a server is in standby, you can’t access it it, however all your files remain in place. You can turn it back on when you choose, either manually or by scheduling the server to turn back on automatically.
Example: If you are running your Cloud as a backup server, you may only want it turned on for 3 hours a day while the backup runs, and have it on standby for the other 21 hours of the day. Or perhaps you’re using the Cloud server as a central office server, and turn it off when the office closes during week days and over the weekend.
While your server is in standby, there is a charge of 1.5c per hour.
