FAQ: What do I need?

Broadband ModemYou will need a broadband modem to connect to the Orcon broadband network.If you currently have broadband with another provider, then your existing modem should be able to connect to Orcon broadband.We can also rent you a modem if that suits
Broadband enabled phone lineTo allow you to talk and use the internet at the same time, your line needs to be set up to separate the voice and data components at your premises and the local telephone exchange.
Line filter(s)To separate the voice and data streams coming over your phone line, you need to have a line filter installed which provides phone and internet jack points. This is automatically included if you go for a "Full Install", but for "Self Install" options you will need to purchase a line filter for each jack point you plug a device into. Note: not needed with Orcon Genius.
Ethernet or USB-capable computerWe generally recommend you have a 1Ghz or faster computer with an Ethernet networking card or USB port onboard to get the best out of the internet.
