FAQ: How do I set up my Orcon Mobile Datastick?

PC:

Instructions for Windows Users

1. Inset the Data stick into the USB slot on your computer
2. If the setup program does not automatically start - go into My Computer and the Data Stick will have created a new “Removable Storage” device. Double click the “Nokia Modem” Icon to begin.
3. Double click the “application” folder
4. Double click the “Setup.exe” icon:
5. This will prompt the setup wizard – Follow through each of the screens of the wizard:
6. Select English and click “OK”
7. Click “Next” to begin the Wizard
8. Accept the Terms in the License Agreement and click “Next”
9. Leave Destination Folder as Default and click ”Next”
10. Select “Install” to begin the Installation
11. Once the install is complete click “Finish”
12. This will open up the Nokia internet Modem console. To set up the connection click on “Options” at the top.
13. Select “Settings”
14. Select “Connections (Dial-up)” from the left hand side menu
15. Select the “New” button on the bottom of the window
16. Select “Create a new connection”
17. Enter the following information:                                 
18.  * Choose a name for the connection – Orcon                                 
19. * Access point name (APN) – www.orcon.net.nz                                
20. Leave everything else blank and click “Finish”                                 
21. A new connection will be set up – Highlight connection and click “Default”
22. Click “OK” to take you back to the Nokia internet Modem console and then click the “blue connect” icon to get connected

MAC:

Instructions for Mac Users

1. Insert Datastick into USB slot on the PC. A Nokia Internet Modem icon will appear on the desktop.
2. Double Click the Nokia Icon in the box that opens up to begin the installation wizard.
3. Click the Continue button to continue.
4. Click the Continue button on the License screen.
5. Click the Agree button to agree the terms of the software license.
6. Click the Continue button on the Select a Destination Screen.
7. Click the Install button.
8. The Datastick will start installing:
9. Once install is complete click on the Restart button.
10. The Nokia Internet modem will now be on your dock and also available in your applications folder. Double click the Nokia Internet Modem Icon to set up the Orcon Connection.
11. Highlight Internet Stick CS-15 and click on the Continue button.
12. Click on Create Subscription and then click the Connect button.
13. Select Entering all the information manually and click on the Continue button.
14. Leave all fields blank on the next screen and click the Continue button.
15. Enter www.orcon.net.nz as the Access Point Name (APN) and then click the Continue button.
16. Click the Finish button.
17. The create a new location screen will come up – select a name and click the Create button.
18. The connection Box will pop up. To connect click the Connect button.
19. Once set up to connect just double click the Nokia Internet Modem Icon.
