    To set up Orcon voicemail, dial 789 and follow the instructions. Note: 789 won’t work for all customers (it depends what network you are on) . If 789 fails to let you access your voicemail, then dial 083210 and follow the instructions. You can also download a pdf copy of the guides below.

  • FAQ: When do I get my invoice? What does my bill look like?

    We will email you an invoice each month. The statement and invoice are included as a pdf attachment on your email, so you no longer have to log in to your account online to download it. Just click on the link to view it.

    If you're moving within the same local calling area, then we'll automatically port your telephone number over to the new address. If you're moving outside of the local calling area then the same phone number may no longer apply.

    Call Forwarding is available by default to customers using our Genius service, most @Home and @Work+ plans. When enabled, inbound calls to your phone number will be forwarded to the phone number that you specify.

    In a small percentage of cases, ISPs sign up new customers, or go to move an existing customer to a new address, only to find they can’t complete the order because of something called ‘port waiting’, or ‘port waiter’.

  • FAQ: What are Call Waiting/Call Minder/Caller ID?

    Call Waiting When you are on the phone and someone else calls you will hear four short beeps on the line. You can then switch between the calls by pressing the 'recall' button on your telephone. Call Minder Call Minder does the same job as an answer phone, but you don't have to have one sitting in your house. Record your own greeting that callers will hear. You can listen to your messages from any touch-tone phone in New Zealand. Caller ID Caller ID shows you the phone number of the person making the incoming call. You will need a Caller ID compatible phone, or a separate Caller ID display unit.

  • FAQ: How are my phone calls billed?

    Toll rates are rounded up to the nearest minute. For example, if you called somewhere for 2 minutes and 29 seconds, you will be charged for 3 minutes worth of calling. There is no monthly fee for Orcon Tolls, and no minimum spend. There are no charges for local calls, but if you dial an area code for a local call it will be charged as a national call.

  • FAQ: What happens to the Orcon Genius phone if there is a power outage, or my modem has a fault?

    Your phone will stop working as it relies on the modem in order to make and receive calls. If you need your phone to keep working in the event of a power outage, Orcon Genius is probably not the right product for you. Take a look at our Orcon@Home plans instead.

    No, Orcon Genius VoIP calls will not count towards a customer’s monthly data allowance.
