FAQ: How do I transfer my account to another name?

The current Account Holder just needs to contact us on 0800 13 14 15 and give permission for the New Account Holder to take over the Account and advise what date this change should take effect. The New Account Holder will then need to contact us to confirm the change and accept responsibility of the Account under the Orcon Terms and Conditions. Please note the current Account Holder will still be liable for the charges on the Account until the actual date that the services are transferred to the New Account Holder. This process can take 2- 7 working days to be completed.

FAQ: What happens if I move house?

If you move house you will need to have broadband removed from your old house and installed at your new place. We can take care of this for you, but you will need to give us at least 10 working days notice for us to transfer your Internet connection over with minimal hassle and delay. Note that if you were on one of our old plans that we’re no longer offering, you won’t be able to take that old plan with you. If you are on a contract with Orcon you will not be breaking your contract if you need to disconnect from your old house, provided you place an order for Orcon broadband to be installed at your new home. An installation fee may apply.

FAQ: I want to change the broadband plan I am on, how do I do that?

You can change the Orcon Broadband plan by visiting http://www.orcon.net.nz/home/. From there, you then choose which plan you want and walk your way through the steps, and you’re away laughing! After you have placed your order you will receive an email from our provisioning team with the expected date on which your plan change will take effect.

Yes. All traffic that flows over your connection counts toward your total usage.

FAQ: How do I know how much data I have used?

You can check how much data you have used by logging into the My Orcon section of the website at any time, from anywhere with an Internet connection. It’s easy! Log in to 'My Orcon' using your Orcon username and password. On the main page your Broadband service should be listed under subscribed services, click on the little grey 'Usage' button to the right of the service. You can then see your usage for the current billing cycle, as well as your historic usage. Please note that there can be a delay of up to one hour in the usage meter being updated. Keep this in mind if you are concerned about exceeding your data limit.

FAQ: What is My Orcon and how does it work?

My Orcon lets you log into our system (it’s called Cosmos in case you wanted to know). You’ll need your username and password, and once you are logged in you can check your useage, change plans, and do a number of other things - all form the list on the right hand side.

FAQ: How do I set up or change my credit card details?

You can change your payment method for your account to credit card, or update your credit card details online. To do so please follow these simple steps: Log-in to the My Orcon section of the Orcon website using your Orcon username and password. Click on 'My Finances' in the menu on the left hand side Click on 'Payment Method' in the expanded menu. Click the small 'Edit' button in the middle of the page. Select your card type from the drop down menu, and enter the required details.

FAQ: How to change how you pay us

You can change your payment credit card on the My Orcon website for your bill to be automatically taken from it. You can not change your payment method to anything else but a credit card (ie - it can’t be moved back to invoice) - The only other way to change this is to call us

FAQ: What are Orcon’s bank account details?

Customers are able to Direct Credit their payment to our ASB Bank account: Orcon Internet Ltd 12-3050-0351777-02 (002 if required) ASB Bank Wellington customers (formerly iServe) are able to Direct Credit their payment to our National Bank account: Orcon 06 0529 0687172 00 National Bank Please ensure your account number or username are in the particular fields and all others are left blank.

FAQ: How can I pay my bill?

You can pay your Orcon invoice in a variety of ways: Direct debit Credit card NZ Post Shop (note minimum $5 transaction applies) Bank deposit (use your Orcon username as the particulars field) Internet banking (use your Orcon username as the particulars field) Please note that some plans have payment method restrictions. To arrange payment of your account by credit card please contact our helpdesk on 0800 13 14 15 (8:00am to 11:00pm Mon-Fri, 8:00am to 8:00pm Sat/Sun)

FAQ: Why is my first bill higher than I expected?

Your first bill may be higher than expected because you will be invoiced from the day your services go live until the 22nd of the month and then for a month in advance. This will bring you in line with our monthly billing cycle (23rd - 22nd monthly). DON’T PANIC. You haven’t been billed twice. Just remember, billing is done on the 23rd of each month & base charges are billed 1 month in advance. Hopefully it will all make perfect sense.

FAQ: When will I receive my bill?

Orcon invoices are generated and sent out by email on the 23rd of each month. We'll send your bill to the email address you chose when you joined up, unless you specifically asked for a paper bill. This address is often .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), unless you selected another one when you joined us.

FAQ: Your invoice

We will email you an invoice each month. The statement and invoice are now included as a pdf attachment on your email, so you no longer have to log in to your account online to download it. Just click on the link to view it.
