X-mini Capsule Speakers: Small speakers with a big kick

6 January 2009 - Written by Sergei Filippov - Audi

Listening to music "on the go" is fine via headphones most of the time, but when you want to share this music with friends on a camping trip this method don't quite cut it.

I'm no audiophile but I was skeptical about the ability of these little portable speakers to produce anything worth while the first time I saw them. From the first play, I was impressed by these speakers and the volume they were able to pump out from their small profile.

Audio Quality

Astonishing to say the least. The volume, the dynamic, and the vibrant sound that was not at all brassy, were all a welcome surprise from speaker of this size.

The speakers pump out the audio over a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, so you don’t have to carry a power adapter for it or install drivers to use it.

Charge

The internal rechargeable batteries provided more than 7-8 hours of playback time, after a full 2 hour charge on full power.

Charging can be done via USB connector from a laptop or even a USB wall adapter (like the one that come with my iPod) or USB cigarette lighter adapter.

Price

Around $70 from your favourite online retailer.

Verdict

Will get waaaaay too much play time this summer and worth every dollar. Check out their site for more info.
