What should you do with your old mobile phone?

10 June 2010 - Written by Duncan Blair - Useful Tip

When it comes time to get rid of that old mobile phone that you no longer need why not get rid of it safely, and help raise money for Starship Childrens Hospital at the same time?

Starship Childrens Hospital is collecting old moible phones through their mobile phone recycling appeal. You can send it to them free post, or drop it in at locations around the country (including right here at Orcon HQ). They then collect them, recondition those that are able to be, and then sell them in developing countries. Those that can't be reconditioned are disposed of in an envrionmentally responsible way.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of the reconditioned phones then goes toward the care of sick kids at the Starship Childrens Hospital.

You can find out more about the scheme over at the Starship Childrens Hospital website.

So if you have old mobile phones lying around drop them in here at Orcon HQ, or find out how to put them in the mail and donate them to help raise funds to treat sick kids.

If you have any further questions, or need a hand with anything, please contact our team.
