Dropbox
Ever wanted to sync files between multiple computers with ease? What about sharing a freshly synced folder of photos with all the funny things your friend Alex did last weekend with all your friends with in seconds? What about all that with total 2GB sync storage for free or 50GB for US$99 a year? I'll take two!
Ok maybe one is enough after all.
Dropbox is a new standard in the plethora of cloud storage services available these days with a really smooth native platform integration on OS X, Linux, and Windows. After a quick install, the Dropbox client software will automatically sync files between computers using their online service. It detects any changes to the files being synced, updates the online versions then propagating the changes to all other computers connected to your Dropbox account.
It is just as easy at it sounds, no fussing or remembering to sync the files. Automatic, consistent, every time.
A great feature that I really use a lot is the web interface that is available on their website. Here you can recover deleted files, remove files, share folders and generate sharable photo gallery links.
If the connection drops, Dropbox will wait until the connection is restored before attempting to synchronize again. This will keep your files from being written twice
Personally, I mainly use it to show photos to my friends from private events that I don't want to upload to Flickr or Facebook.
