It's NZ Music Month

Friday May 18, 2007 ~ Posted by: Matthew Sliedrecht

At Orcon we are suckers for good music. In fact we can count DJ's, guitarists and singers amongst our multi-talented staff. That's why we made the Orcon Radio player on our website, so that we could get all our favourite independent radio stations in one place.

This month is extra special being NZ Music month, and we thought we would take the opportunity to profile some of our favourite NZ bands.

The Upbeats

The Upbeats are a Wellington-based drum and bass duo, Jeremy Glenn and Dylan Jones who have been playing together for over 7 years. Their diverse style ranges from dark and moody to funky and energetic. They have recently been taking the world by storm alongside established stars of the scene, and are about to release their second album.

The Aviators have been on the Wellington music scene for a while releasing their debut EP in 2004.
