Great tips for students

Friday February 16, 2007 ~ Posted by: Duncan Blair

It's that time of year again, with college students having just returned to school, and university students getting ready to hit the books for another year. One of the great things about the internet is that not only is it a fantastic research tool, but there are many cheap and often free applications that can help students out.

Recently in our travels about the web we came across this great article about useful web tools for students on NextStudent.com.

While it is targeted at College students in the USA, there are some web tools listed that will be just as handy for Kiwi college and university students.

Read the whole article for a complete rundown, but a couple of our favorites are:

Tada List

Need to keep track of what you have got to do? With Tada list you can make simple to do lists, share them with others, and tick them off as you go.

Zoho Show

Zoho Show lets you create presentations online, and then hosts them so that you can show them remotely. A great alternative to Microsoft Powerpoint.

Google Docs

Google Docs is a great tool for collaborating on group assignments. You can allow other users to edit documents, so you can all work together to get that assignment in on time without having to keep track of who did what and when.

Research for homework and assignments is much faster using an Orcon Broadband connection.
