LLU/Naked DSL Working Parties

Tuesday September 05, 2006 ~ Posted by: Duncan Blair

Today the LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) and Naked DSL working parties are meeting for the first time in Auckland. This is the first day of the first phase, which is due to be completed by the 15th of December. Representatives from both Orcon and Siemens are present at todays meetings on behalf of Orcon.

This is the first round of the working groups, being facilitated by theTelecommunications Carriers Forum. They are being conducted with the objective of speeding up the availability of naked DSL and the LLU (Local Loop Unbundling) process.

This is the first major step towards our goal of building an ADSL 2 network in New Zealand. As such, both Orcon and Siemens will be very active participants in these working parties. Keep an eye on our blog for more information over the coming months.

Bring on faster, better, more affordable broadband for New Zealand!
