2006 was a huge year for Orcon, and indeed the telecommunications industry in New Zealand in general.

2007 is shaping up to be just as exciting, if not more so. Here is a sneak peak at some of the things that we have in store for the coming year...

Mobile Calling and Data

As we announced in August we are set to become New Zealand's third mobile player, offering mobile calling and data services later in 2007. We will be looking to shake things up (both for residential and business users) just as we have with broadband and other Internet services.

Orcon Tolls

We are currently working on some great new specials to offer on Orcon Tolls. There are going to be some new capped calling destinations (including a national capped calling rate), to be announced in the next month.

We will also be launching Orcon Tolls for business, with some outstanding rates for destinations around the world.

Broadband

As the legislation introduced last year begins to take effect we are going to be doing some really exciting things with broadband. Look out for ADSL 2+ midway through 2007, and VDSL 2 (faster, faster) possibly coming hard on its heels in late 2007 (depends on the progress of local loop unbundling).

VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol)

We are currently developing a VOIP product that has the potential to reduce both business and residential calling rates substantially, as well as provide innovative new voice services.

When you couple this with the likely availability of naked DSL late in 2007 we will be able to offer a viable fixed line replacement.

Look out for a product launch in mid to late 2007.

New Business Services

We have some great new business products and services in development. These include:

• Hosted Exchange 2007
• Hosted Live Communications Server 2007
• Hosted Sharepoint 2007
• Business VOIP
• New hosting solutions

These are just a few of the things that we are working on. There are some other really exciting things that we want to keep a surprise. So you can see that 2007 is going to be a pretty busy and exciting year for us.
