Last night we took out the coveted Telecommunications Carrier of the Year award at the annual TUANZ innovation awards. We are absolutely stoked with this result, and see it as a great reward for all the hard work that we have put in over the past 12 months, particularly around unbundling the local loop.

TUANZ is the Telecommunications Users Association of New Zealand, and their annual Innovation Awards is the biggest industry awards night of the year. In the last two years awards we took out the ISP of the Year, which we were really happy about, but we think we have gone one better this year and really announced our arrival as the best provider of all telecommunications services.

So here it comes... the virtual acceptance speech:

A huge thanks to all our customers for backing us as we try to deliver the best telecommunications service in the country. This was an award voted on by TUANZ members, some of the most demanding telecommunications users in the country, so thanks to all those who voted for us!

Another big thanks to our suppliers who have also contributed a huge amount to helping us win this award.

And finally of course, the staff here at Orcon. A dedicated, passionate and awesome bunch of people who do everything that we can to keep our customers happy. We really do rock.
