Rural Broadband

If you live on one of the many rural properties in New Zealand that is unable to get broadband internet through your phone line, we may be able to deliver broadband to you using wireless technology.
Orcon Rural Broadband utilises a small antenna to deliver broadband through the air, rather than through your phone line.

Rural Broadband Installation

We'll install Orcon Rural Broadband for just $449. That includes:

  • a technician visiting your property to install the antenna and the special modem,
  • the same technician making sure that you are up and running smoothly


Please note that if you live 50km away from the base station you will be liable for extra mileage costs. Extra mileage is $1/km.

The equipment and installation for Rural Broadband is subsidised to reduce your set up costs and because of that a $499 disconnection fee applies if you cancel your Orcon Rural Broadband connection within 24 months.

Rural Broadband Purple (with calling)

Wireless broadband internet access with 1GB of data (data upgrades available). Includes a $5 per month discount for moving your direct-dial toll calling to Orcon.
