FAQs
What do the line speeds mean?
On the traditional network
Max/128kbps
The fastest download speed as your line allows, which could be anything up to 7.6Mb (see how fast can my line go for more on this), but 128kbps is the maximum upload speed. This speed is perfect for most people as we tend to do much more downloading (information being recieved by your computer) than uploading (information being sent from your computer).
With a Max speed connection things like streaming TV, music or videos become possible, as well as regular downloads and web surfing being much much faster.
Max/Max
The fastest speed your connection will go in both directions, which could be anything up to 7.6Mb download and 768kbps upload (see how fast will my connection go for more on this).
This speed is perfect for people who do a lot of uploading as well as downloading. If you do fancy things like connecting to computers that are in another location over your connection or sending/uploading large files this is the speed for you.
On the Next Generation Orcon+ Network
The download speed on Orcon’s Next Generation Network is up to 24Mbps, with up to 1Mbps upload. This service isn’t available everywhere – to see if you can get these speeds at your place check the Orcon+ Network page.
