My Orcon

Shaun Quincey (aka the Tasman Trespasser) arrived back on dry land yesterday in spectacular fashion, braving 3m+ waves to come ashore on 90 mile beach.
After 54 days at sea, a couple of hairy moments, and rowing more than 3500km Shaun arrived back to around 150 family, friends, well wishers and media mid way up 90 mile beach. He battled huge swells in the final stages of his journey, but made great progress, beating his fathers record for crossing by 10 days (his father Colin was the only person to have previously made the solo crossing - from NZ to Australia, back in 1977).
Here are a few pictures from the arrival:

We helped Shaun fund this audacious adventure, as well as hooking up his home base with super fast Orcon broadband and phone so that they were able to stay in contact with Shaun while he was at sea.
You can find out more about Shaun's incredible journey over on his website: www.tasmantrespasser.com and check out this great little video of the build up to the adventure over on facebook.
Shaun is also auctioning off a few souvniers from the trip to fundraise for Surf Lifesaving New Zealand. Check out the auctions on TradeMe.
